Dr. Bob Stewart(Dentist and Owner)
From childhood, Dr. Bob Stewart set his sights on being dentist, and nothing tempted him to follow another career.
Born in Dallas, he was reared in San Antonio where he was an accomplished musician in high school, and president of the National Spanish Honor Society. He also excelled in sports, especially soccer, and acting. He was in two motion pictures in high school, and was featured in a television commercial while attending the prestigious University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, named the best dental college in America. Go ahead, ask him if he has a dollar. The dean of UTHSC did after catching the commercial.
Dr. Bob was selected to work with Spanish speaking patients in a clinic in San Antonio the summer of his junior year in UTHSC.
Upon graduation he worked in San Antonio and Corpus Christi before moving to Houston where he was Director of a large dental consortium. Thirteen years ago he purchased a clinic in Pasadena that he renamed Fairmont Family Dentistry.
Dr. Bob lectures nationally and teaches other dentists a state-of-the-art technique in enthodontics, (root canal). He is considered one of the leading experts in this technique, which not only reduces procedure time, but increases the treatment’s success rate.
He also attends continuing education courses to keep abreast in the latest developments in all areas of dentistry.
“ I take care of each patient that is in my chair as if they were a member of my very own family,” he says.
And family is important to Dr. Bob. He is married to Kim, who handles marketing and patient relations, and they have three children, Christina, Courtney, and Bobby IV, who tells the world he wants to be a dentist, too.
Busy in his children’s lives, Dr. Bob coaches Bobby’s soccer team, which has made the finals for three straight years. You’ll find him watching his daughter, Christi, hone her equestrian skills, three times a week. She recently won a national championship in Tulsa, OK. Meanwhile Courtney keeps him busy running lines for her theatrical events. In one month she was featured in a junior college play, and sang a key solo in a school play.
In his spare time he chases his wife around the block, unless she slows down enough to let him keep up when they are out running. Other hobbies include water skiing, racquetball, golf, boating, and soccer. He plays on two indoor leagues.
Ask him his idea of a good day and he’ll tell you about relaxing hours in a bow hunting blind, watching nature. He’s so motionless that he once had a vulture try to land on his head.

Art Barragan (Dental Assistant) Art Barragan’s hands gently help you receive the best of care as he deftly assists the office dentist. But, outside the office, one of his hobbies is boxing. That’s quite a contrast for the sweet-natured father of two, who has worked for Fairmont Family Dentistry for eight years.
Married for seven years to Yajaira, the couple has two boys, Giovanni, 5, and Jonathan, 3. He recently purchased a home in LaPorte for his expanding family, which will welcome another child before the end of the year.
Patients know his gentle, helpful nature (He often escorts elderly patients to their car, and has been seen crawling on all fours to help find a missing earring.) and fellow employees know his keen sense of humor. You’ll have to ask them about it.
Art was reared in Roma (TX) where he graduated from Roma High School before attending the San Marcos Dental Assisting School.
“I like to care for our patients. I think we have a very caring staff here, and it’s a great place to work!”

Connie Ambriz (Hygene Assistant) When not working as a dental hygiene assistant, you’ll find fun-loving Connie Ambriz playing with her two sons, Benjamin, 5, and Brandon, 3. They could be reading books or watching a movie, one of Connie’s favorite pastimes. And that interest leads to another passion, reading celebrity gossip to keep up with her favorite stars. She can tell you who’s dating who.
A party waiting to happen, Connie is especially adept at easing a patient’s fear since her love of fun lightens the office. “We are a happy staff. We love to talk to the patients because we understand that many people are scared. I know that with just talking to them it helps them to ease their fears.”
A Houston native, Connie is a graduate of Sam Houston High School, and has worked at Fairmont Family Dentistry for three years.

Kim Stewart (Patient Relations) Kim Stewart was born in Detroit. “But I got to Texas as soon as I could.”
Dr. Bob’s glad she did. Not only is she in charge of marketing and patient relations, but she’s his wife. They have three children, Christina, Courtney, and Bobby IV. Reared in Houston, where she attended the The High School for Performing and Visual Arts, she graduated from the University of Houston. She taught kindergarten and gave birth to three children before joining Dr. Bob at the clinic four years ago.
“Our doctors are the best – but I guess I am most partial to Dr. Bob (guess I better be!) They are incredibly gentle and in tune to your comfort. I love working here and taking care of our patients,” she says.
Her love of music led to her being named first chair trumpet in All State Orchestra, and it is her trumpet you heard playing Taps during the Challenger Memorial dedication at NASA.
She is an avid runner and has completed marathons in Houston and Walt Disney World in Orlando. You bet, Dr. Bob ran with her, about two miles behind her most of the way.

Debora Gutierrez (Office Manager & Treatment Coordinator) Odds are when Office Manager and Treatment Coordinator Debora Gutierrez schedule’s an appointment, she’ll ask you to be a little bit early to keep the day running on schedule.
She knows all about coming early since she was born a month prematurely while her parents were on vacation in Acapulco. Two days later her parents flew back to Houston where Debora joined her five siblings, all boys.
She graduated from Bellaire High School, then attended the University of Houston and San Jacinto College before coming to work at Fairmont Family Dentistry ten years ago.
Her hobbies are her husband, Manuel, and son, Aaron, 2. You bet, she’s willing to share a ton of pictures should you ask.
“I have worked for other dentists and there is no one there like the doctors here! They treat everyone with a caring attitude, genuine smile, and a tender touch. I consider everyone here my second family!” That’s why she’ll probably greet you by name when you enter the office.

Gwen Barrett (Financial Coordinator) While insurance coverage is a dry subject to most folks, Finance Coordinator Gwen Barrett spends her time studying that intricate world so she can help you get the best treatment through insurance coverage, and financial arrangements.
“I have been in dentistry for 14 years. I look forward to continuing my career with patients to help make dental treatment attainable while educating myself with new changes in insurance plans.”
Gwen was born in Reeves, LA., where she graduated high school.
When not at the office, you’ll find Gwen puttering around in her yard, after taking a long walk through her neighborhood with her two dogs, Toby and Scooter.
A dedicated grandmother, she’ll share pictures of her grandbaby, Keaton and the dogs, if you ask. Maybe if you don’t ask.

Natalie Villareal (Office Receptionist) Natalie Villareal is the first face you see when you enter the office. She smiles a lot. Not because it’s her job to greet you, but because she has a zest for life that translates into thousands of hours as a “volunteer.”
You might see her behind the scenes at her children’s school, or working with the March of Dimes, or the United Way, or swinging a hammer on a Habitat for Humanity project. Special Olympics, Christmas food drives, and helping Santa find patients at the hospital round out her busy schedule.
Reared in Pasadena, she is a graduate of Pasadena High School, and attended San Jacinto College. Natalie is the mother of two girls, Ravae and Ralynn.
The newest member of the Fairmont Family Dentistry team, she has been here less than a year.
“I love how we treat and interact with our patients. We are a very friendly office that makes patients feel very welcome and comfortable.”
